Their grouper or Mahi sandwich is always a crowd-pleaser, prepared just the way you like it. Grab anything from gator bites to spicy crab queso dip on their starters menu, it’s all tasty. With a plethora of tasty options, there is something for everyone. But when you get to the end of the boardwalk, the smells of mouth-watering seafood and other waterside delicacies and the sound of live music in the air lets you know you have arrived at Harpoon Harry’s. Passing quaint boutiques and specialty shops along the way, as well as several other eateries allows you to window shop and peruse at your leisure. Once you arrive and walk up those steps and into the open-air shopping and dining mecca situated right on the water, you realize you are on to something special. The drive there through quaint Punta Gorda, passing historical homes and waterside beauty makes reaching the destination all the sweeter. With a destination like Fishermen’s Village, lunch at Harpoon Harry’s is more than simply great dining. What is this magical place? Harpoon Harry’s Restaurant and Sports Bar and it makes a Tuesday (or any day) feel like a mini-vacation. The smells from the kitchen remind you of cocoanut shrimp which would absolutely match the ambiance of your waterfront lunch stop for the day. Happy people with a pep in their step hop off their boats, hoping to score a table just like the one you are currently perched upon. Double American flags flank the posts in the water so that when the wind catches the stars and stripes, they appear to magically stretch over the span of the waterway. The restaurant I’m speaking of comes with gentle sounds of waves lapping against the dock, which you overlook. It is akin to getting dessert for free or being upgraded at a hotel. Bring a bottle of water and maybe a snack because there is no place to get water during the walk.The other day I was reminded that a meal with a view is a bonus situation. It’s a boardwalk through a swampy area (a.k.a. Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve – Put on some walking shoes and go do this! This preserve is one of the most beautiful things we discovered. There are also some walking and bike paths next to the water along with a dock full of boats you can walk around. This is where Harpoon Harry’s is located. I believe February and March are the months to go and there will be so many manatees for you so see it’s wild! We went at the beginning of April and didn’t see any at all so make sure you look up on their website the best time to go.įisherman’s Village – Fishermans Village is a cute outdoor shopping area with some cute shops, fun bars, and amazing restaurants. It was still beautiful to go walk around and all you had to pay for was parking. Manatee Park (Fort Myers, FL) – This place would have been amazing if we went during the right months. Boats docked next to the restaurant and walk up for a yummy meal and we even saw dolphins jumping out of the water! My recommendation is that you get a strawberry daiquiri to drink and a basket of Grouper, you can thank me later! You’re going to want to get there at 11am when it opens for lunch to get a good seat on the covered outside seating area that overlooks the water. Harpoon Harry’s – This phenomenal restaurant is located at the end of Fisherman’s Village right on the water. ![]() The sunset was incredible and once it got dark strung lights lit up the bar and palm trees. There are tons of brightly colored lawn chairs placed in sand for you to leisurely sip on a tasty beverage, eat a little something and enjoy the Florida air. TT’s Tiki Bar – This was so much fun!
